Experienced New Jersey Clinical Psychologist Dr. John Rathauser
Dr. John Rathauser has worked as a clinical psychologist in Kendall Park, New Jersey, since 1991. Over the course of nearly three decades he has focused his practice on one-on-one psychotherapy sessions with adults and older adolescents, though he has also worked as a couples therapist. He has extensive experience with clinical techniques and approaches such as Davanloo’s intensive short-term dynamic psychotherapy (ISTDP), and as part of his practice teaches mental health professionals in training groups as well as providing seminars nationally and internationally. As a clinical psychologist, John Rathauser, PhD, has assisted patients in addressing a variety of difficulties, including depression, anxiety, somatic disturbances and marital problems.
Dr. John Rathauser studied psychology, with a minor in English, as an undergraduate at Wittenberg University. He later completed a PhD program in clinical psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology-Los Angeles. Upon completion of his doctoral degree, he went on to complete five years of postdoctoral training at the Postgraduate Center for Mental Health in New York City, and later spent eight years in training with Habib Davanloo, MD in his Montreal training program in Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (IS-TDP). His professional affiliations include the New Jersey State Psychological Association and the International Experiential Dynamic Therapy Association (IEDTA), through which he is an approved supervisor and teacher.
